MACRO
Continuing with the idea of money being one of the main culprits of climate change, I gathered a few of my special coins, and put them in the top 3 atmospheric scenarios that human’s create.

I put my Olympics swimming 50p coin onto a background photo of an ocean, polluted with plastic, also using two lights, one with a blue gel, and another with a yellow gel, to add a little extra contrast. Such sport events like the Olympics use up a lot of plastic, from the contenders, to all the thousands of spectators who go to watch them. Luckily, a new Plastic Game Plan for Sport was recently introduced, endorsing more sustainable sources, and better recycling.

On the second photo, I used my Florence Nightingale coin. She was an English social reformer and statistician, and the founder of modern nursing. Nightingale came to prominence while serving as a manager and trainer of nurses during the Crimean War, in which she organized care for wounded soldiers. I mainly used this coin because of the imprint of the hand, looking like it’s almost reaching through the fire, with the great sunshine-like pattern behind it. I used an image of a burning forest to represent how humans’ causes of deforestation could lead to uncontrolled forest fires, such as the recent ones in Australia. I also used a red gel on the left and a yellow from the right, to create a very warm, fiery scene. This could be also said to represent how wars affected the environment, with all the fires and bombings killing all foliage and defertilizing acres of land.

The third photo presents a very similar theme as the previous, with the deforestation, although, this time I chose to use green lighting and a background of half a forest deforested. This coin is about the first world war, which again directly links to the battle deforestation, portraying the clear idea of man vs nature. However, I was more focused on how different economical activities lead to mass deforestation, such as in the Amazon rainforest, from using wood for furniture, cutting trees for paper, to for agriculture, such as crops and pastures, and even for medicinal uses. Fortunately, there are laws introduced to help use more controlled, and healthier deforestation techniques, nevertheless, there are many groups who illegally cut down trees, mostly locals or some tribes, although indigenous tribes are affected greatly by such deforestation.
